Sports Bra Review – Berlei Ultimate Performance

Berlei ultimate performance sports bra review she science

A group of Operation Movers were invited to experience the unique fitting system and fantastic service offered at She Science. Each Mover was prescribed the best sports bra for their needs, and in the coming weeks we will share their thoughts on the products.

Hilary Says:

In January I had the privilege of going to She Science and having a sports bra professionally fitted. I have to tell you this was smack bang in the middle of Melbourne’s heat wave and the very idea of hanging out in an air conditioned store had me sold, as sadly we have no air con at home. But the She Science ladies are nothing if not about moving, so into a new sports bra I was and onto the treadmill. At the start of my fitting Tish asked me if I knew my size, I replied 14C fairly confidently. She measured me and shook her head. My heart sank – I’m a 16, I thought, how did I let this happen and why does it seem I’m the last to know? Unfortunately it seems I still do a lot of my thinking out loud and my new BFF quickly informed me that I wasn’t a 16 or even a 14, but sitting somewhere between a 10 and 12. I also wasn’t a C cup, I was a DD or possibly E. In one morning I was refreshingly cool, skinnier and had larger breasts – go to She Science! They make you feel good!! As someone who is fairly shy, but usually covers it up by talking – a lot – (sorry guys), I loved how discreet the fitting was. Tish would bring me a bra, explain its benefits and leave me to put it on, while being close enough to assist if needed. She would then come back and I would hop on the treadmill to see how it felt and looked while exercising. This system allows you to compare different bras on the same screen and gives such an interesting and accurate picture of how much your breasts move while running. It also allowed me to see the ridiculous faces I pull while exercising which I am attributing wholly to treadmills, reinforcing my decision to quit the gym and focus on outdoor running. I think I would have spent at least 40 mins with Tish, tried on 4 different bras and settled on the Berlei Ultimate Performance. As well as feeling awesome and keeping the girls beautifully in place, it has a inbuilt mp3 pocket – I love it! The other thing I loved is that at no time did I feel rushed or pressured.

I am a massive online shopper and love a good recommendation so left to my own devices would have gone for the Juno Moving Comfort ( in the wrong size). But while being a great bra for so many movers, this didn’t suit me. I loved everything about She Science. It was a really positive shopping experience and I will definitely be back. I especially love that their range covers everything from the teeny weeny to the larger lady, something I know can be difficult to find in the sports apparel.

Sports Bra Review – 2XU Contour Sports Bra

2XU sports bra review

Recently a group of Operation Movers were invited to experience the unique fitting system and fantastic service offered at She Science. Each Mover was prescribed the best sports bra for their needs, and in the coming weeks we will share their thoughts on the products.

Meisha Says: I’d heard about She Science from another mover and was interested in checking it out, so when the opportunity arose to do so with some of the Op Move team I jumped at the chance.

As a small chested lady it had never occurred to me to get fitted for a sports bra. I just wore crop tops and that seemed to be enough. However after 5 years and counting of breast feeding, although I was back to being small, I definitely needed and wanted more support.

I was currently wearing a triumph triaction bra which I did like but I wanted to see what else was out there, and the thought of being professionally fitted also appealed to me as I wondered if I was wearing the right size.

I was immediately impressed with the staff and atmosphere at She Science. It was professional yet friendly and welcoming. And the range of sports bras was amazing…so many sizes, styles and colours! And they also had a great range of other exercise clothing and accessories.

The sales assistant measured me and spoke to me about my preferences. My current bra was the type that basically strapped the boobs down so they don’t move! I was happy to hear that there were options for me that might make it seem like I actually had boobs. I was also used to a racer back style however I was open to trying something different.

The first bra I tried on was Moving Comfort Rebound Racer. I loved the look and the style of this bra, particularly the great colours, but it didn’t quite feel like the right bra for me. Next was the 2XU Contour Sports Bra – at first glance it didn’t look like something I would usually try on, it wasn’t racer back (although it has a clip on the straps so you can make it a racer back if you want) and it wasn’t a crop top style like I was used to, but Iove the 2XU brand so I was happy to try them. They seemed to be a bit tight at first but I was assured they fit correctly, and I found once I had a run on the treadmill they did in fact feel great, very supportive and comfortable. And they have soft moulded cups so it was a lovely change to look like a woman and not a 12 year old boy for a change!

I have since worn the bra while weight training and on the cross trainer, and have found it to be so comfortable and supportive. I’ve worn it racer back style and non racer back, and both have been great. The other bonus has been the fitting advice given by She Science; the bra is an XS, and I had another brand new XS 2XU sports bra at home (I bought it during an online sale) which I thought was too small as it was hard to get on, but I gave it another go and realised that once I got it on (it’s hard to get on because it’s a crop top style) it’s actually a good fit! So I feel like I got 2 new bras for the price of one!

I would definitely recommend She Science to anyone who wants to be correctly fitted for a sports bra – it’s important for us all, not just those with bigger boobs!

Sports Bra Review – Moving Comfort Juno

Moving Comfort Juno She Science

Recently a group of Operation Movers were invited to experience the unique fitting system and fantastic service offered at She Science. Each Mover was prescribed the best sports bra for their needs, and in the coming weeks we will share their thoughts on the products.

Kate Says:

When I started running I realised pretty quickly that a good sports bra was not a want but a must have. Anyone who has ever experienced underboob chafing will know exactly why that is.

I bought a Berlei Ultimate Performance sports bra because I could not get my head around any bra without underwires. It was great for a while, but in time I found that the band underneath started to roll up during a run and I needed to wear a crop top as well to feel supported.

It was around that time that I first hear about the Moving Comfort Juno. I ordered one online and from my first run I knew I had found the perfect bra for me. Despite the lack of wires, it was supportive and comfortable and I ran hundred’s of kilometres in it through rain, hail and shine without once experiencing any chafing.

When I attended my fitting at She Science I was interested to see if they would recumbent the same bra, especially as I had lost a fair bit of weight and my boobs had taken off along with it.

After being measured up I tried a few different bras out using their video technology and a treadmill to assess for support and stability. While the other brands were good, they just didn’t offer the same level of support for my shape and so I left with a beautiful new blue Juno, albeit in a smaller band size than I was wearing because like many women I hadn’t been fitted in years and was wearing the wrong size for me.

Because I have been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for so long, compressive support is important for me when I run. My breasts are definitely nothing like they were before all those years of hard work, and I’m happy to have found the perfect bra for my needs. When they change shape again as they are bound to in time, I’ll be heading back to She Science for sure!

Sports Bra Review – Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra

Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra Review

Jo

Recently a group of Operation Movers were invited to experience the unique fitting system and fantastic service offered at She Science. Each Mover was prescribed the best sports bra for their needs, and in the coming weeks we will share their thoughts on the products.

Jo Says:

I was so happy to be invited along to She Science to try out their sports bra fitting service. I’ve gone through almost all of my life without ever having a bra fitting! It was just something too daunting and I really thought I knew my size. I didn’t, I’ve been getting it wrong my whole life probably! I had one fitting recently and have no idea why I worried so much. The fitting at She Science was fantastic. So relaxed yet professional at the same time. The staff are so welcoming and really know their stuff!

There are so many bras to choose from and I really liked their idea of trying a couple of bras that fit the criteria you usually like (ie. crossover back, no underwire, etc) and then trying one that is different just in case you do happen to like the feel of it. I loved this idea because if I’d been getting the size wrong for 20+ years, maybe I’d been getting the style wrong as well!

When the bras were on, it was time to get on the treadmill and have a little run while being videoed. Apart from showing my quite hilarious running style, I could easily see how much breast movement there was in each bra. This really did help me in making a decision because a few of the bras felt quite similar on. The footage is instantly deleted at the end of the fitting so there is no need to worry about that either.

I bought home a Shock Absorber Ultimate Run bra and I love it! It’s comfortable, provides complete coverage and great support. I’ve managed to try it out kickboxing, walking, running and just sitting around the house. I LOVE it! It is exactly the right size, the shoulder straps don’t slip, I don’t fall out of it when I bend over, the girls don’t bounce all over the place while running or kicking and it’s comfortable enough to wear for the day. All of this is because it fits!!! That’s what you get when you go to She Science, the right bra!

The trip to She Science was such a positive experience, especially for someone who has never been in that kind of environment, is not as skinny as a model and a little shy and anxious. I would definitely go back again and have been recommending them to everyone since!
