It’s coming up to my absolute favourite time of year, Christmas! And in the interest of everyone getting something they absolutely love for Christmas, I’ve come up with a bit of a gift guide. You can use it to shop for a running friend, or just helpfully distribute to everyone you know. Your choice!
Training Journal or Log Book
The most important place to start is stationery, right? You can either go the full training journal or the bare-bones logbook.
The best sports headphones you’ll ever own
I have these plantronics headphones and I just bought some for my husband too. You think that wireless headphones won’t make *that* much of a difference, until you can’t imagine life without them. As an avid headphone user, even at home being able to have my phone somewhere else (charging probably) while I walk around listening to podcasts is huge.
Did you ever have to choose between toe socks and compression socks? Not anymore!
Injinji now make compression socks so you don’t have to choose between the comfortable socks that look after your toes and the compression that looks after your calves. More colours, please!
That running watch you’ve got your eye on
You can currently pick up the best running watch you’ll ever need at about half price at Rebel.
Those high waisted tights that are going to make you feel awesome
RunFaster have some awesome tights for you to get your hot little hands on which offer great core support and a huge range of NOT black designs. You can get 10% off with the code OPMOVE.
The bra with the pocket in the racerback
This is possibly my favourite find of the year from Lululemon. Just because it makes the rest of my wardrobe so much more functional. POCKETS. And when you have the pocket in the back of your bra, you can wear whatever you want on the bottom!
Favourite tights of the year are a tie
I’m torn between the Aero (Left) and the Pocket Jogger (Right) from Oiselle. Both high waisted (of course!) The Aero is super-flattering, super comfy and great for all kinds of workouts and I love the detailing on it. And the Pocket Jogger is just an achievement of function. It’s compressive, high waisted, loads of pocket storage and has reflective panels too. Although you do have to deal with overseas shipping, you can get $20 off your first order with this link.
Custom jewellery that you will actually wear
The only reason I haven’t bought one of these, is I’m still trying to work out what my words should be. I’ll get there. But in the meantime, there is a huge range of jewellery available at SilverHope to commemorate any event or to showcase any words that have a particular meaning for you.
And for the parkrun lover, a wristband so you never have to remember your barcode
I LOVE this. As someone who eternally has a printer without ink, this is the perfect way to never have to print off barcodes ever again. And it’s impervious to rain or sweat or anything that might get in the way of you getting your scan done after you’ve finished parkrun. Available from BentLogic in black or pink in a range of sizes.
